The carbrain that want motorcyclist to stop using a car parking might be the same carbrain that park at a motorcycle parking.
I live close to an old town with limited parking. Still way too much if you ask me, the thing is just filled with cars at all times. Anyway there is one parking car sized spot for motorcycles. Car people are not happy. They were even less happy when they just used regular parking spots, but they are still not happy.
Yeah in my European dense neighbourhood, some people have a private parking attached to their house (garage or lot on premise) while others have a shared parking. Now the private parking people stuff their private parking with furnace wood, DIY stuff, god knows what else and then put both their cars on the shared parking, after which they will complain loudly about not enough parking space. These people man, these people.
I would think the OP is about bicycle paths, and pedestrians walking on them…
…rather than automatically being about cars and motorcycles, which probably isn’t the vibe of this community. Not exactly a bunch of motorheads.
Also the title of the post.
Motorcycle get treated the exact same way as bicycle by carbrain in everywhere except asia, and even then we still doesn’t have proper motorcycle infrastructure, even parking. It’s not the same mode of transport but the struggle and treatment by carbrain is the same.
Also bicycle have the same parking spot size as motorcycle and they usually share the same parking spot, so it’s easier to illustrate the point.

No, not even close. You can have 4-5 bikes in the space it takes to park a motorbike

When i think of motorcycle parking i think of this
Which can be shared with bicycle. Bicycle rack isn’t roadside and it’s pretty rare outside of certain european country.
Sure this can be shared with bicycles, but that’s still more than twice as much space as is needed to park a bicycle if there’s a regular rack that are everywhere, not just Copenhagen/Denmark

This doesn’t look secure. The bikes need to be locked to the frame; otherwise you can just remove the front wheel and take the bike
Well, i would happy to take anything if it’s everywhere.
These spots would be useless for bicycles, because there’s nowhere to secure it, nothing to lock it to.
Bicycle are cheap here(china is very close by), it hold little value(hard to resell, people ride motorcycle more than bicycle), and not many people dare to steal a bicycle, they’ll get swarmed. Unless you ride an expensive titanium bike with a sticker saying “steal me”, generally you’ll be fine. I usually left my bike with a wheel lock in spot like these. But then again i don’t own any expensive bike worth stealing.
And that includes homeless people, who sleep in my bike lane and also love using it as an extra sidewalk, then give me the stink-eye for using it for its purpose like I’m the one in the way.
I don’t blame them. Look, you’re homeless, every possible respite has been taken from you, except the one gutter cars won’t run you over in. Blame the state, not the people.
Someday I should order a set of superglue bumper stickers that simply say “I can’t read Bike Lane signs!” or similar. My stack would empty in just a few trips.
