GOG was worth supporting for that reason ( until their recent little Nazi incident…) but Epic is far worse for the games industry than anything steam has ever done. Holding games hostageexclusive to try and force people to use their shitty platform is much worse than steam saying the steam price has to match the lowest price off-steam…
Sure, someone grabbed a handful of random rune-looking symbols and put them on an email. Other than the lightning I wouldn’t even recognize these as Nazi symbols, and even then, it’s a lack of QA not an endorsement of any ideology.
People truly act like nuance and intention don’t exist
In this case the nuance and intention both are “they admit they knew these were nazi symbols but decided to send them out anyways, fully aware it may cause offense (which is why QA didn’t send them to german users (possibly also because this flirts with being actually illegal in germany))”. So… no, “Nazi incident” really isn’t a bad way to describe it. While you yourself may be ignorant of common nazi symbols (and I envy you that particular source of bliss), you are (perhaps fortunately) not representative of the whole population - and unfortunately given what they’ve said, GOG has made clear they were not laboring under a similar ignorance. This was Not Good before the apology, but that response really made this indefensible.
