RAM that’s hogged by windows is wasted RAM. It should be used by programs and for caching.


The Pi 4 & 5 are no good for tinkering anymore, but the Pi Pico microcontrollers still are. I just hope they don’t screw that up too.
The Linux equivalent of that is
cat file.txt > /dev/lp0. It still works if you have a parallel port printer that accepts plain text.
