I use their cloud storage (and docs occasionally), a different VPN service, and a different email provider. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket as another user here said.
It is “purple google” as yet another user said, but that’s one thing that makes it great. It’s not harvesting all your personal data like google does, but provides a similar service.
My family had a mix of android and iPhone. Whenever the iPhone people sent videos to our SMS group chats they would get compressed into near oblivion because of imessage (I’m pretty sure).
Convinced them to switch to signal so we could all share videos. Anecdotal, but sometimes an indirect route works best.
