No, I really don’t. I personally don’t enjoy being gaslit and lied to, and that’s about all LLMs are good for. They are an opinion aggregator, so they can regurgitate information, but don’t have a mechanism for determining accuracy besides assuming that the most prevalent opinion is correct, which is absolutely the wrong way to go about it. LLMs are really just an inadequate substitute for critical thinking, and I refuse to ever kneecap myself by using them.

Because I currently live in a country built around the car as the focal point for all urban planning, to the detriment of all of us. I also drive as little as possible, walk to work, etc. I’m not over the top enthusiastic about “how amazing it is to be forced to drive a car for literally everything” like you seem to be about AI.
It’s one thing to be excited about AI from the getgo. It’s another, seemingly incredibly disingenuous thing to say “I tried but just couldn’t resist AI now look at how amazing it is there are zero downsides!”. That right there is basically what you’ve said, and comes across solely as a statement to try to astroturf public opinion online.

So why are you using it? Why are you trying to whitewash something unethical?

If that isn’t the most whitewashing AI comment I’ve ever seen…

So what it does is cut federal grants to cities/towns that still use them, meaning the impact is a lot larger than just no money for cameras. It could seriously cut infrastructure and healthcare funds, and anything else the federal government funds. I do agree this is not a perfect solution, but it’s absolutely a step in the right direction, and I’d rather get something on the books to slow the adoption while the perfect solution is in the works. Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good.

Good. This proposed act seems to ban all flock-style camera systems, not just the brand name. This should be a slam dunk for anyone who cares about privacy.
Whoops fixed thanks!
