That’s only relevant to… I think just one country where self check outs exist. Namely America.


Luckily, self checkouts are expanding in Copenhagen. Seriously beats standing in a line for the next 10 minutes. Such a depressing waste of time.
Anyway, haven’t even had half the issues most people seem to complain about with self check out. I’m guessing it’s because Danish supermarkets don’t half-ass it. Or maybe people are genuinely stupid around even simple technology.
Oh finally! This is fantastic news! Now we just E2EE for DMs at least.
From what I’ve heard of more technical people on here while lurking discussions, Lemmy isn’t scalable.
If everyone from Reddit were to move over to Lemmy, we’d be in big trouble.
But I am more effecient than the cashier. Dunno how it is like where you’re from, but a cashier job is either for people who are nearly retired, or a teenager’s first job.
So, in the same footprint of three cashiers that will have 3 queues waiting around, there can be 12 self checkouts with no queues at all.
