  • If you have a dedicated 220v outlet near your driveway or are willing to have a dedicated wire coming out of your home out of a garage or a janky window, if you don’t to drill into the siding and hard install the wire to the siding. My fiance’s aunt has a new Electric RAV 4, like the latest model and she has a 110v charger and it takes for fucking ever to charge. She gets frustrated when the charger isn’t back in when someone uses it because it takes for fucking ever.

Campsites usually have 110v and not 220v. If you want good charging speed you’re inevitably paying more for it. You can do the whole figuring out some clever way to utilize natural resources to charge an EV or have it set to a battery backup or something cute like that but even still that’s better for like if your typical way of charging isn’t working or unavailable.

Either way though, you’re not gonna get an EV to be effectively charged with any kind of speed with a 110v home charger. It could take an hour to get 5%. If you have one or know someone with an EV, you’ll know the actual struggle that people who switch from gas to electric go through, not just going along with the hive and hype.
