Tesseract didn’t disclose it, if you make the messaging clear then it can work. A button like “Block political communities” with a full list of what’s being blocked and a link to the page to edit your block list.

definitely, it would help setup default subscriptions, and even default blocks would be very nice
Well you don’t have to use it if you don’t like it. Many people like it, it was a feature with high demand. Even without the feature I always check the crossposts for different comments, so it’s the same thing just more convenient, no difference in “mono-culture”
Plenty of people heard about Lemmy and bounced off. PieFed is the one people haven’t heard about yet, there’s some hope that they get a big growth spurt
PieFed helps with this
Well it doesn’t mix the comments, there’s a divider between
You can use a subdomain, and I’m pretty sure you can get a subdomain for free. It won’t be pretty but it will do what you want.
I don’t like the title cause there’s a decently sized userbase here, but the article is good. If the article was something like “Why don’t more people use Lemmy?” then I would share this on Reddit, but as-is most people will just read the headline and skip it.

When you signup on piefed.social it asks you something like “do you want to see posts about US politics?” And if you don’t want to see them, it gives you a filter that hides/dims posts that have “Trump” in the title lol it’s pretty effective. It’s configurable but the server admin so not every instance will have it, but they might have something similar.
