I too don’t get it, but some people love it, and who are we to stop them? Linux is for everyone!

1·24 days agoIndeed! Trying to move my stuff to my Pixel and use it more, even if some wrinkles are there.
Please note Fairphone 6 is not properly supported yet, but the effort is there.

0·25 days agoAs a fellow postmarketOS user, it’s not fully ready for prime time, though it surely works.
If you need banking apps (not just bank in your browser), native popular messenger apps (Waydroid is there, but it’s way from perfect) and stuff like such, postmarketOS and mobile Linux in general are still not ready for you.
If you want to explore the alternative and ready to make some sacrifices in a quest for independence, you should absolutely give it a spin. Many well-supported devices (Pixel 3a, Pocophone F1 etc. etc.) are old and extremely cheap to buy on the secondhand market, and will offer you a decent experience.

That seems to miss the main point of the article, which is that Passkey standard has attestation procedure built in. A site that uses Passkey can verify the flags you set and deny your access if you use unapproved device, operating system, old kind of secure chip or, say, allow your passkey to be shared between devices.
