At this point driving is your profession 😂 and you need a diff solution. Either fast charge or battery swap or plain old fossil fuels.
Honestly though I hope there’s stuff like park and ride or decent public transportation for people who have such long commutes (or a society where you can afford and prefer to love closer to work). Driving for hours on end can’t be healthy
I’ve considered flying, since I work at an airport, and have enough land (I’m very, very, very rural) that I could land a bush plane out front. But the cost of the airplane, aviation gas, and scheduled maintenance would be pretty steep, and I’d only save 30 minutes or so each way. (Plus, av gas is leaded (!!!).) I do drive a Prius, and will likely get an EV once I run the Prius into the ground in 3-4 years.
Part of the problem I have is that electricity is very expensive in my area - still cheaper than gas right now tho - and my electric utility is making putting in a 20kW solar array a goddamn nightmare. They want to double the cost by forcing me to upgrade a quarter of a mile of primary service line.
Yeah I fucking do. I’m at Costco of BJs just long enough to fill the tank, and then I’m off.
Why not charge at home? You cant be making 100km trips a day
My daily commute is 220 miles (110 each way).
