As a layperson, I can’t help but wonder how much of this mess is caused by coding with AI and not checking the results.

Most of it. Though at the same time, a ton of security vulnerabilities are also coming out thanks to AI so companies are playing catch-up.

Yeah a 1000% YoY increase in CVEs is absolutely a change in detection methodology. Like when cancer rates spike after a cheap test comes on the market.

The slop programming doesn’t help, and frantically patching those CVEs with slop code is probably the cause of some of the instability, but the CVEs themselves have likely been there for years, just until now the only folks that knew about them have top secret clearances.

Bazzite has been great for gaming but I’ve been having issues lately when it comes to more productivity based tasks like running VMs. I’ve been thinking about installing Mint again and dual booting them. At that point I could almost get rid of my windows partition (still a handful of games I play once every couple months that use anti-cheat).

I tried Bazzite and over all liked it but it was giving me fits on a couple of things too so I moved to Fedora. That was a couple of years ago and and I’ve been happy with it. I have a windows drive because I can’t get my WFH software to work right but only use it about once a quarter.

I can’t remember why I went with bazzite over regular Fedora. I think it had something to do with the display protocol not liking my monitor setup but I’m probably completely wrong. Maybe instead of dual booting bazzite and mint I can just install Fedora and call it a day.

Mint is a good no nonsense OS that’s pretty reliable and easy to use, but what’s happening with Bazzite when you try to use VMs?

It’s been a couple months so I don’t remember specifically. I just remember looking it up and finding a number of results saying it wasn’t really gonna work, with bazzite being an immutable OS. I think something needed to be updated or changed and I couldn’t do it.
