i love this game and as the source is still locked by some asshat, i just rebuilt it using claude.
added some quality of life features… the game predates many text game interface advances (didnt even have color!)… built in web server for providing a JS telnet client or of course you could use your own term.
works pretty well, and ive got windows/linux binaries and source if anyone wants it
some undocumented stuff:
# - Shows list of users online
set prompt on|off - Shows your hit points (and stun) in the prompt, like [HP 17/32 STUN 6] -. It’s colored green, yellow or red by health.
set quiet on|off - Hides villains’ yells, songs and mutterings. Combat, damage, arrivals and other players’ chat still come through
set art on|off - Shows or hides the pictures in special rooms
set ansi on|off - Turns color on or off. It takes effect right after login. color also works in place of ansi.
And you can fuck right off.
The thing that really bothers me is the title claiming OP did something when AI did it based on stolen work.
naw… its a 40 year old game literally dying on a archeological floppy disk.
nothing about this is stealing… if anything, its preservation
