53·2 days agoGood software doesn’t grow on AI. He’s going to maintain all this, and keep up rapport before people even want to trust it. Even then, most professionals don’t learn on 3rd party stuff cause that detracts from the process itself. Adobe isn’t standard because it’s expensive or even well made, it’s because everyone uses it. This guy’s stuff it a toy, it probably “works” but I doubt it’s making anyone any money.

42·4 days agoThis would turn into us mindlessly reacting to each other eventually, so I’ll end it and leave you with this. Migrants, make labor cheaper, I would probably cost twice as much to make Americans harvest in the same efficiency as compared to people doing it now. That would drive up costs as to be unacceptable, so it’s never going to happen. You’re looking at this from the wrong way around. The same exact problem has manifested in tech now too. If they could, we’d all be replaced with indians by now. Indians in India will reckon with this new change, and like an addict getting off a dependency, they will move onto better things. They won’t have a choice. While they’re getting their shit straight because the cashflow stopped, we’re still pretending everything is okay. I don’t see a realistic way out of this hell we’ve created for ourselves, but strawmanning indians and India will do nothing.

74·4 days agoHorses out of the barn, etc, etc. The money is gone that would go to these Americans replacing visa holders. The American workers will want more money, and do less work. This is about as realistic as Americans doing their own farming after kicking out all the Mexicans. After AI, what money or interest will remain in the American IT sector? Honestly the visa holders might be in better shape. They’ll take their hard earned skill back to wherever and work even harder - well before problemd here arise. Well be fighting the low wage jobs they’re being taken away from, and probably won’t match it in quality or quantity. Furthermore this arrangement exists because we needed it and it could be made possible in the first place. There was no scheme to replace the American worker, that’s just how capitalism works. If it’s literally cheaper to import labor, it’s not objectively the companies fault, it just became good business. It’s called a Nash equilibrium. Neither side could be better off without making something worse off at the same time. We sleepwalked into this, there is some blame, but by far it was a team effort.
