  • I’m slower at these games and it took me around 100 hours before I kind of knew what I was doing, and im still executing it poorly. Most of learning was just understanding who all the characters are and what the people playing then tend to want to do.

Only way to learn that is constant limit testing and failing. And you have to not get upset when things are going bad. You can’t just grind 8+ hours a day and expect to get better, you have to only play when you want to or in a good mood. I only get 2-3 hours where I can play and be fully into it, after that my brain stops remaining in full focus, and I just build bad habits and start playing it like a brainless call of duty shooter. Know when to call it a day, you learn and get better by doing something daily for at least 15 minutes. Its about consistency not pure hours.

I haven’t played in forever, but tried again when they released the aram equivalent and that really helped me learn the new updated items, and get a feel for team fights with less pressure. In the real game team fights are hard to read what’s going on and when someone is trying to engage, when you are trying to check mini map, worry about other lanes, urn, mid boss, etc.

You have to have one hell of a mindset to play mobas, and then also at minimum a decent aim for the hero shooter aspect. I played league of ledgends more than CS go so I tend to play more utility players, or will build more spirit power with characters who have good poke and rely heavily on bullying from a distance in lane phase with geist, or seven. It gives me slightly better odds of not getting my ass completely stomped and I can at least come out neutral on the laning phase.

  • Debian based systems for systems you need more stable. Generally not a big concern for me unless you are setting up servers or really depend on specific software.

I wouldn’t recommended Ubuntu, I would recommend something like mint if you’re going that route. But Ubuntu is a safe feeling first choice and i get why people chose it. If you google a problem and just add the word Ubuntu generally speaking the google result or even googles ai summary has got you covered pretty good.

If you are more into gaming I would suggest something like bazzite, cachyos. Often they handle drivers for you super easily and comes with things like game scope too. Often you want more bleeding edge operating systems for gaming/newer hardware as updates seem to happen more frequently and with more noticeable improvements in the past 5 years.

If you just need a basic computer the choice doesn’t really matter all that much its just kind of what looks good to you. You said its just for older computers so something like mint would be a fine choice in this scenario.

Generally speaking you are either picking a arch based system or a Debian based system. And all the distros are kind of the same, they just give you preinstalled software, technically you can pick any and get the features you wanted yourself.

Hopefully I didn’t confuse you more or give you too much decision paralysis.

  • Only have time for social gaming so friendslop like stonewards, but been enjoying myself more and it reminds me of how games should be like when I was a kid. Also threw the older gaming rig with a gpu up as a server so I am limited to games that work on integrated graphics which work fine.

Haven’t even made good use of the servers GPU yet, had grand visions of buying poe cams but I think that’s a while out.

  • Its more the implication that the unite states, which is a cartel in its own right can use that power to systematically execute people on the street as if it was a cartel attack making an example out of someone.

Thinking about it you could argue ICE already did that twice already, and you get considered a anti tech extremist if you call elon musk a retard on twitter. Its not too much of a stretch to imagine just how far this abuse of power could go.

And just to make sure im clear, I’m not making an argument America a scary dangerous place and Mexico is safe. I’m clarifiying what I think was the intent was.

  • I’m not even creative but when I had a vr set up I spent maybe 3 days making a semi miniature island with a waterfall on a floating rock I was overly proud of.

Just felt more intuitive in a way that blender or photoshop never really clicked with me.

I might be confusing another app but I know one of them you can export as 3d models and it made me want to make something less functional for once, but I never got around to it. If I ever get a frame I would want to look into that more. At bare minimum I can see myself uploading the structural file to the app and then sculpting something nice onto it then taking that final file to the slicer.

  • Fuck jagex but also nice I’m a sucker for runescape.

I’d probably still play old school if it wasn’t for jagex accounts and them pushing the official launcher. They tried to kill runelite so many times, and would now if it wasn’t for community push back. They are trying so hard with the HD stuff, and making their own client that doesn’t suck ass so that they can sell services like runemetrics that runescape 3 has/had where the plugins are a extra 5-10 a month.

There are private servers that are pretty much their own game in its own right, the community carried that game, to the point of making their own clients HD mods, plugins, wiki etc. Its practically Minecraft if they where smart they would that encourage more. They are actuslly working a project like that where you can host private servers but it got put on hold indefinitely, and from the sounds of it you can only toggle basic things like a clan wars portal, instead of setting put a frame work for people to create real content like the illegal private servers have.

They just have a lot of potential for a permanent name sake like Minecraft, Gary’s mod, roblox or what ever weird community based game. Shit like leagues and dead man are a good example of what some ones private server could be like, but when the community gets ahold of it they will make things you couldn’t even think of like turning the game into a Mario party clone where you still level up your wood cutting skill and what not. It just breeds endless communities and spin offs the the point its just a platform for anyone. Its retro and simple enough to get into in a charming way like minecraft and can be as simple or complex as you need it to be when playing at any time.

They keep trying to branch out and do weird stuff with the runescape name when really they should just keep doing whatever they are with old school, it’s working well and then turn old school base into a platform for private servers and corner the illegal market that makes waaay too much money selling fake pixels to a IP they don’t own and rigging their own servers markets to do weird shady shit with shady black markets forums who trade coins from private servers and trade it for real osrs coin. They think they’re doing cyrpto/wolf of wall street or something weird most the time.

Its not even going to take away from the main game just take back the people who only play leagues/deadman and illegal private servers. People are still going to play the normal server because a whole bunch of people who are addicted to number going up like to ensure that the number that goes up is permanent, and that it ends up on the official high scores so they can point at it to validate the thousands of hours it took to move a number almost into the triple digits. Almost ensuring them selves that their virtual struggles where real.
